Description

This is a house, originally part of a larger building, with a probable 17th-century core, largely rebuilt in the late 18th century and altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It was originally timber-framed and is now brick-cased, with a tiled roof. The building has three bays, with a two-bay front facing Old St. Mary's. The recessed entrance is located to the right of centre, with panelled reveals. It is flanked by 19th-century sash windows with timber lintels. Similar sash windows are on the first floor, with a half-blind window to the left. All openings have segmental brick arches. A rendered plinth runs along the base, and a plat band defines the division between the ground and first floors. A dentil cornice runs along the top of the building. A large ridge stack is positioned to the left. The left bay is a whitewashed, stuccoed shop with a ground-floor shop window. The roof is hipped to the left and the building has been extended to the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
