Description

This is a two-bay 17th-century timber-framed house, with a shop on the ground floor and living accommodation above. It was refronted in the mid-to-late 18th century, and a further bay was added in the 19th century. The building is constructed of whitewashed brick with old tile roofs, and features brick stacks positioned between the left-hand bays and at the right gable. The older section has a plain parapet, while the 19th-century bay has moulded brick eaves. The ground floor features a 20th-century window with a segmental head to the left, and a 19th-century shop front with a moulded cornice to the right-hand bays. On the first floor, four-pane sash windows with segmental heads are found in the left-hand bays, and a canted oriel with a minimal modillion cornice is present to the right. A panelled door, flanked by a reeded surround including roundels in the corners and a small cornice, is located between the left-hand bays. A further four-panelled door is situated to the right.
