Description
This barn, located about 20 meters northeast of Tilehouse Farm house, dates from the 17th century, with possible earlier origins, and has aisles that were likely added in the 18th century. The structure features a timber frame that is weatherboarded, topped with a tiled roof, and consists of four bays. There is an entrance in the second bay facing the house. The aisles are mostly intact, except for the left front where a two-bay shelter shed is attached. Inside, the barn has queen struts supporting the collar beams that clasp the purlins, straight braces connecting to the tie beams, and jowled posts. The aisles include diagonal braces. To the north, there are piggeries with slate roofs, featuring curved braces connecting the wall posts to the wall plates.
