Description

This is a late 18th-century house on Church Street in Buntingford. It has a yellow brick front that has been painted white, topped by a slated gambrel roof. The house is two storeys and an attic high, set back from the street, and built with a two-cell, single-pile plan. A lean-to roof covers a single-storey addition at the south end. An attic dormer is situated behind the parapet in the middle of the roof, with two windows on each floor. A horizontal oval window with a metal fretwork design sits between the upper windows. The recessed sash windows have ogee arches and intersecting glazing bars in the window heads. A six-panel door is located on the right-hand side, with an elegant doorcase featuring fluted half-columns and a full entablature that projects forward over the capitals.
