Description
The Fox and Duck Public House is a house that was licensed in 1711, originally built in the 17th century with later alterations and additions. It features a timber frame that is roughcast, with red brick additions at the rear. The building has steep old red tile roofs and is a long, L-shaped structure that is two stories tall with an attic, facing south. The fenestration is irregular, including three 19th-century three-light flush casement windows on the upper floor and three larger transomed similar windows on the ground floor. There are 19th-century half-glazed double doors with a plain surround and a heavy bracketed flat hood. A blocked doorway is located at the right-hand end of the front before the slated lean-to extensions. The building also has a wrought iron sign bracket with twisted finials. In the east gable, there is a two-light attic window that appears to be in front of a chimney. There are indications that the front wall has been heightened. Inside, there is a chamfered axial beam in the lounge.
