Description

This is a row of three houses located on River Green in Buntingford, dating from the 18th century, with later 19th-century extensions to the rear of numbers 13 and 15. The houses have timber frames built upon a chamfered red brick plinth, which has been renewed. The exterior walls are plastered and lined to resemble ashlar, with weatherboarded aprons. The roofs are steeply pitched and covered in red brick tiles.

The row faces north and features a central chimney built of red brick between numbers 11 and 13, a western gable chimney on number 11, and a rear wall chimney to number 15. The front elevation has five two-light flush casement windows on the upper floor, each with two panes. The ground floor has similar, deeper windows. Number 13 and 15 have battened doors sheltered by flat hoods supported on shaped brackets. The entrance door to number 11 has been moved to a stucco rear lean-to. The houses form a picturesque group overlooking the ford.
