House. Early C19 on site of and reusing materials of brick house of 1598 demolished 1819. W wing early C20, and later. Reused narrow red brick to main block, red brick rear parts. Red tiled roofs. A tall symmetrical 2-storeys and attics house facing E, with gambrel roof, end chimneys, single-storey crenelated wings set back to each side and entrance now into S side of S wing. Front has projected eaves cornice, 3 swept dormers with 2-light Yorkshire sliding casements, 3 recessed sash windows to upper floor with plastered reveals and 6/6: 3/3: 6/6 panes. 3 taller Ground floor windows with flush box sash windows under flat gauged arches with 12/12 panes. One and a half storeys brick and tile Arts and Crafts style W extension with entrance on S with linked mullioned window and door, and 3 tall oak oriel windows on N side, one with lead decorative vents in lattice window in style of Lethaby. 2-storeys W block. Wren style entrance at SE has segmental pediment to vertical panelled door in bolection moulded surround. (VCH (1914)80: RCHM Typescript).
