Description
No 32 is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates back to the 15th century, with features from the 18th century and a shopfront from the 19th century. The building has an exposed timber frame with plastered panels and a jettied front, topped by a very steep old red tile roof. It is two stories high and consists of a single-bay jettied street range, which includes an external chimney on the north gable and a rear range along the north boundary.
The jettied front showcases close-studding and paired curved tension-braces, with a single brace on the north gable. There is a moulded wooden cornice from the 18th century at the eaves, and it features two flush box sash windows with 6/6 panes and moulded architraves. The shop window is long and divided, with a boarded stallriser and a half-glazed door on the right, complete with a fanlight above. A moulded blind-box connects the door and window. The building also has mutilated noses on the heavy joist ends and cut-back braces at each end, as well as under the right-hand jamb of the left window.
