House, now commercial premises on ground floor. Early to mid C18, C19 and C20 alterations. Dark red brick with orange dressings, Flemish bond, plat bands at first and second floor levels. Tall parapet with stone copings conceal twin hipped old tiled roofs. 3 storeys. First and second floors have 5 sash windows with slightly recessed exposed boxes, and plate glass with sash horns indicating C19 replacements, under segmental rubbed arches. Ground floor has mid C20 shop windows left and right, and central doorway, with door missing and replaced by a roller shutter. Doorcase has Roman Ionic fluted pilasters, a broken entablature, and pediment. Rear elevation has 5 recessed sashes (with glazing bars), plat bands, and curved and ramped ends to tall parapet. Late C19 single storey attached outbuilding at south-west corner, red brick with hipped machine tiled roof, possibly former counting house. Attached tall plum red brick boundary wall, laid to English bond, links with No.29 (qv) adjacent. (The Buildings of England: Pevsner N (rev.
