Description

The Cottage is an 18th-century house located on the east side of Hay Street in Braughing. It features a timber frame with roughcast finish on a stucco plinth and has a steep roof that is now slated. The house has a two-unit layout with a central chimney and is two storeys tall, with a single-storey lean-to at the north end. There is one window on the west side on each floor in the northern part, while the southern part has a window on each floor at the south end. The entrance is now through a 20th-century lean-to rear porch. The Cottage is situated in a prominent roadside position and is included for its group value.
