Description

Hamels Park Farm is a farmhouse that dates back to the 17th century or earlier, with renovations made in the late 19th century. The building features a timber frame that is plastered and designed to resemble ashlar. The front of the house has half-timbered gables, basket-work panelled pargetting, and painted framework. It has red tiled roofs that are hipped at the ends.

This two-storey house is arranged in a T-plan, with an early 18th-century window in the rear wing that contains the stair and kitchen. The front range, which faces south, has three units and includes a large central chimney at the eastern end of the hall (the middle room) and a smaller central chimney in the western room. The door is now positioned centrally.

The front has four windows, with a central gabled gothic timber porch that leads to a battened door and side seats. The windows are wooden, dating from the 19th century, with three-light windows at the ends and two-light windows flanking the porch. The chimneys have tall diagonal shafts.

To the east of the rear wing, there is a grey brick pantry with a roof louvre and a red brick dairy that is half sunk in the ground. These are connected by a tiled gabled porch on the southeast, which encloses a rear courtyard.
