Description
The farmhouse at Tillers End Farm dates from the late 17th century, with a 19th-century service wing to the southwest. It features a timber frame with a stuccoed plinth and a roughcast front, while the rear has panelled pargetting. The low service wing is constructed of painted brick. The roof is covered with old red tiles, half-hipped at the east and hipped at the west, where it adjoins a short gabled kitchen wing.
This two-storey house with attics has a three-cell central-chimney plan and faces north, with the southwest kitchen wing featuring a gable chimney. A single-storey service wing extends the kitchen wing to the south and includes a lean-to tiled porch at the kitchen door in the angle. The north front has three windows on each storey, with flush casement three-light wooden windows. There are also two-light similar windows in two hipped dormers on the front roof slope. A large cruciform central red brick chimney aligns with the door, which is a six-panel, raised and fielded door set in a moulded doorcase with a swelled frieze and a moulded cornice topped with a swept metal roof.
The rear wall has two windows on each floor, a similar dormer to the east of the chimney, and a bolection moulded first-floor window in line with the chimney. The porch to the kitchen door features Gothic pierced and moulded brackets.
