Description
Knights Hill Farm is a mid-19th century farmhouse, believed to have '1853' marked on a chimney brick, with tile-hung ends added around 1913. The ground floor is constructed of red brick featuring chamfered stucco lintels. The upper floor is timber framed and jettied on all sides, showcasing a half-timbered center and red tile hung ends, adorned with a lozenge pattern of scalloped tiles on each gable. The house has a steep red tiled roof and is designed in a picturesque Gothic style, comprising two stories and an L-shape, facing west with a rear wing to the southeast.
The symmetrical front features a central gabled projection above a pilastered doorway. Decorative elements include cusped bargeboards and a heavy carved pendant above a three-light lattice window, which is embellished with vine-scroll carvings and quatrefoil double panels below. Carved brackets flank the boarded door, which has a fanlight and decorative hinge plates. On the first floor, there are two two-light windows on either side of the doorway. The ground floor has two two-light windows to the left of the door and a four-light window to the right. A large chimney is located on the rear wall at the junction with the similar half-timbered rear wing, which features a gable chimney topped with a tall castellated octagonal pot.
