Description
New Street Cottage is a building that consists of two houses, which have been combined into one. It dates from the 18th century or earlier and was extended at the rear in the early 19th century. The structure features a timber frame that is dark weatherboarded, topped with steep old red tile roofs, while the eastern slope of the eastern range is slated. The cottage is two storeys high and has four narrow windows arranged in two groups on the eastern front. There are twin two-storey wings set back on the western side, with an entrance located in the angle between them. The northern gable facing the road has a flush sash window on each floor, and there is a similar window above a half-glazed door in one of the wings. The eastern range has a central chimney, with a gable chimney on its rear extension, and there are external gable chimneys on both western wings.
