TL 31NW STANSTEAD ABBOTS ROYDON ROAD (north side) Tarbets Hill 5/45 Railed monument in churchyard at Old Church of St James 12 metres SSW of chancel

GV II

Churchyard monument with cast iron traceried railing. Early C19. Stone monument raised on York stone cover slab to vault into which cast iron railing is set on 4 sides. Ridged stone ledger raised on chamfered base. Winged heart carved in triangular sunk panel at each end of ledger. Cast iron traceried Gothic railing with quatrefoils over cusped ogee arches, and cresting above moulded rail. About 1 metre high. Square corner standards with spiked maceheads.
