Description
The Rowley monument, located in the churchyard of the Old Church of St James next to the east wall of the northeast chapel, is a churchyard monument dating from 1746, dedicated to John Rowley. It is made of limestone and is raised on two steps. The tomb chest features gadrooned corners with recessed balusters, egg-and-dart moulding, winged cherub heads, and a raised and fielded panel with convex quadrant corners on each face. The top slab is moulded and includes the primary inscription.
