Description

College Farm is a farmhouse that has been converted into a private house. It was built in the early 18th century for University College Oxford. The structure is made of sandy red brick that has been limewashed, topped with a steep old red tile hipped roof. The building is two and a half stories tall and has a cellar, designed in the Queen Anne style with a rectangular shape facing south, set in a large garden.

At the northwest, there is a single-storey rear wing constructed from colourwashed brick and flint, featuring a slate roof. The layout includes a central entrance and end chimneys, with a staircase located at the rear. Inside, there are internal gable chimneys with three flues on the west side and two on the east. The symmetrical south front showcases a plinth, a plat-band, and a corbelled brick eaves course.

There are three gabled dormers at the eaves, and the windows are three-light, small-pane casements set under segmental arches, with the ground floor windows being taller. A large gabled open timber porch supported by brick piers leads to a half-glazed 19th-century panelled door. The cellar is located under the eastern part of the house. College Farm occupies a prominent position next to the churchyard at the beginning of the older part of the village.
