Description

The East Barn at Mauldens is an early 18th-century barn located on the south side of Venus Hill in Bovingdon. This tall, four-bay structure features a timber frame that is dark weatherboarded and topped with a steep old red tile roof. The entrance is situated in the second bay from the north. The barn has unjowled posts and straight braces supporting cambered tie-beams. Inside, it boasts a clasped-purlin roof with angled queen-posts, and there is a pitched roof to the rear outshut opposite the doorway.
