Description

The Old Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century or earlier. It is constructed with a timber frame, originally infill panels of painted brick, with the ground floor now faced in painted brick with imitation timbering. The roof is steeply pitched and covered in old red tiles. The two-storey, two-bay house has a jettied north-facing front with central entrance and external gabled chimneys featuring offsets. There are two two-light flush casement windows on each floor, and a plank front door. The interior features jowled posts and a clasped-purlin roof without diminished principals. A small cast iron framed window is present in the west gable, illuminating the attic space.
