Description

Nos. 103, 104, and 105 are a group of three houses that date back to the 17th century or earlier. They feature a timber frame with red brick infilling. No. 103, located at the western end, has been refronted with red brick following the demolition of a long front wing that was shown extending to the road on the Tithe Map of 1838. The building has a steep old red tile roof that is hipped at the western end.

This long two-storey structure faces south and is set back some distance from the road. No. 103 has two windows on each floor and a battened door on the left-hand side. The windows are two- and three-light casements with lattice leaded glazing and an iron opening light, and there are segmental arches over the ground floor windows.

No. 104, situated in the middle, has a brick ground floor with full-height bay-posts and features a four-light flush casement window on each floor, along with a plank door on the left-hand side. There is a lobby entry next to a large internal chimney, and the building has wide-spaced story-height studs.

No. 105 includes a two-storey rear wing and has an internal chimney that rises through the front roofslope. It has one window on each floor, and the eastern gable displays an exposed frame of a clasped purlin roof with large plastered panels, along with a brick casing below the tie-beam.
