Description
Nos. 19 and 20 on Leighton Buzzard Road are two houses that originated as one house in the 17th century and were renovated in the 19th century. The building features a timber frame with roughcast and a dark weatherboarded gable facing the road. It has a steep old red tile roof and is two storeys high with an attic, consisting of three structural bays and a total of four windows on the south-facing side. There is a large internal chimney located a third of the way from the west end and an external gable chimney at the east end. A tiled lean-to is present at the west end. The entrance includes two boarded doors situated under gabled tiled hoods supported by curved brackets. The windows are wooden casements, with two-light and three-light designs, and there is a small two-light casement in the attic at the top of the west gable. This building is included for its group value.
