Description
Numbers 14 and 15, also known as Croeso, are a block of two houses located on the west side of Leighton Buzzard Road in Great Gaddesden. They date from the early 18th century or earlier and were renovated in the 19th century. The houses have a timber frame that is infilled with yellow and plum brick, with the ground floor being brick cased. They feature steep old red tile roofs and are 1 and a half stories tall, facing north. Each house has casement windows and four gabled dormers at the eaves. The layout includes two bays for each house, with an internal gable chimney at the west end. There is a lean-to on the west side that reveals an exposed timber-framed gable with jowled posts, straight braces to the tie-beam, and wide spaced timbers infilled with narrower red brick or brick-on-edge infill. The rear is roughcast and has two single-storey lean-to extensions.
