Description

This building, now divided into two houses, originally dates from the 17th century for the northern wing, with the southern wing being rebuilt or encased in the 18th or 19th century. The taller parlour block at the southern end was built in the mid-17th century, and a lower extension was added to the western end of the northern wing in the 19th century. The structure features a timber frame with yellow brick used as infill panels and as casing on the ground floor, while the parlour wing has thin red brick infill. The roofs are steep and covered with old red tiles.

The house is irregularly L-shaped and has one and a half storeys, facing east. The southern parlour wing is two storeys with an attic, while the northern wing has two bays running west along the roadside and includes a single-storey extension beyond a gable chimney. The northern wing features two gabled dormers and a four-light transomed 18th-century casement window with lattice leaded glass and a stepped head in the northern gable of the hall range.

On the eastern side, there is a side-gable and a small gabled porch at the northern end. An open timber lean-to porch leads to the door, with a small 19th-century window beside the inglenook at the junction with the parlour wing. The parlour wing has a single wide bay with axial chamfered beams that include ogee and nick stops. The roof has collar and clasped purlins, with straight wind-braces and straight braces in the walls. Inside, there is a round-arched fireplace and a winding stair beside it, along with two-light lattice leaded casements.
