Description
Nos. 42 and 43 on Bird's Lane are two houses that were originally built in the 17th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The structure is timber framed and features a painted brick facing, topped with a 20th-century tiled roof and a central ridge stack. The building consists of two framed bays and has an altered lobby entrance type. It stands two storeys high and has three windows on each floor, all of which are 20th-century casements. There is a canted bay window on the ground floor to the left, and doors are located in the additions to the right and left. Inside, the houses contain good contemporary fireplaces and remnants of a 17th-century staircase.
