Description
Burton Lane Farm is a 16th or 17th century timber-frame farmhouse that has been altered and extended around 1840 in a Tudor Gothic style. The ground floor is painted brick, the upper floor is roughcast, and the roof is covered with machine tiles. The original hall range is in the center, with a lower cross wing and a two-story extension to the north. A one-story addition is located to the south. The windows are three-light casements with leaded glass and Tudor grip moulds. The hall range has a cusped wooden valence, and the north extension’s first-floor gable has a cusped bargeboard with pendant finials. There is a gabled door hood with a cusped bargeboard and a four-center arch doorway. Behind the north and south extensions are parallel gabled ranges, each with a twin gable, cusped bargeboards, and finials.
