Description

This 18th-century barn is located approximately 15 metres west of Bigods Farmhouse. It is timber-framed and covered with weatherboarding, topped with a roof made of corrugated asbestos. The barn consists of four bays and features a midstrey. It has straight tiebeams and braces, with unjowled wallposts and primary straight bracing in the walls. The structure showcases the early use of high-quality imported softwood for the wallplates and tiebeams, while the posts are made of local hardwood. The barn is in good structural condition.
