Description

This is an 18th-century barn located approximately 60 metres west of Bohuns Hall. It is timber framed and covered with weatherboarding, topped with a roof made of corrugated iron. The barn has six bays that run roughly east to west, with two midstreys on the north side and a lean-to extension situated between them. The structure features a pegged hardwood frame with primary straight bracing, bolted knees connecting to straight tiebeams, and face-halved and bladed scarfs in the wallplates. The roof is supported by queen struts and joggled butt purlins, with all rafters being tenoned and pegged. Some of the walls are partly infilled with breeze blocks.
