Description
Hill Farm features a barn with attached small outbuildings, located 10 meters to the west of the farmhouse. This structure dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century and is timber framed, primarily covered with weatherboarding. The roof is thatched, with a half-hipped design for the central barn, a hipped roof on the left outbuilding, and a half-hipped roof on the right outbuilding. Each building has board doors. The barn consists of three bays and includes arched braces to the tie beams, jowled storey posts, and through bracing in the walls. The roof features arched braces to the side purlins and a halved and bladed scarf joint at the top plate, showcasing good quality craftsmanship. The attached buildings have a side purlin roof and straight tie beams.
