Description

Forge Cottage is a cottage from the 17th century or earlier, with later alterations. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring a red brick extension on the right side. The roof is a half-hipped gambrel style, covered with red plain tiles and has three gabled dormers. The front has a range of three small paned casement windows and two boarded doors, with the door on the right having a slanting red tiled porch and accessed by steps. There are two red brick chimney stacks, and the property includes a rear wing. The Duck End Forge was recorded as "The Blacksmith's Arms" in 1937.
