Description
No. 2 and No. 4 on New Street, along with 44 High Street, are shops and flats dating from the early 19th century. The buildings are timber framed and plastered, topped with a gabled slate roof. They rise three storeys high and feature three double hung sash windows with moulded surrounds and small panes, along with one smaller sash window on the second floor. The first floor has three double hung windows that are proportioned like sash windows from the 20th century, set in their original openings. On the ground floor, there is one double hung sash window with small panes and moulded surrounds, alongside two 20th-century shopfronts. These buildings are included primarily for their group value.
