War Memorial. C20 commemorating WWI and WWII. Portland stone. Decorated cross with engraved stonework extending down into the slender tapered shaft. Base of rectangular podium with recessed panel bearing names of 1914-1918 war dead: IN PROUD AND GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE GALLANT MEN OF STANSTED WHO FELL IN THE FIRST GREAT WAR. Podium is on three tiered steps with the 1939-1945 war dead in inscribed in the risers. Group value with St. Johns Church.
