Description

Savages is a 16th to 17th century timber-framed and plastered house located on Lower Street in Stansted Mountfitchet. The building features a large central gable and a smaller gable at the north end. Some restoration work has been done, and the timber-framing is exposed on the east front. The house has two storeys, with the upper storey jettied across the entire front. It includes 2, 3, and 4-light leaded casements. The ground storey has modern casements with lattice leaded lights. The roof is tiled and features a central square chimney stack along with a grouped diagonal shafted chimney stack at the north end.
