Description
The Kings Arms Hotel is a mid to late 19th century plastered building featuring stucco rusticated quoins and three gables. It is prominently located at the corner of Station Road and Chapel Hill, serving as a terminal feature at the west end of Lower Street. The hotel has two storeys and attics, with windows that are a mix of double-hung sashes and casements. The gables project slightly forward, and the central gable displays sham timber-framing. On the north side, between the gables, there is a castellated octagonal tower designed in a "Gothic" style. The roof is tiled, and the gables are adorned with shaped ornamental bargeboards.
