Description

Tudor House is a late 16th-century timber-framed and plastered house located on Lower Street in Stansted Mountfitchet. It has two storeys and attics, with the first storey jettied across the entire front. The north and south gables are covered in tile hanging. The house features a range of three casement windows with glazing bars. The doorway has a segmental head and is topped by a small carved panel that displays a crowned rose and the initials 'E.R.'. The roof is tiled and includes an original central chimney stack with three octagonal shafts that have moulded caps and bases. Additionally, there is a coved plaster eaves cornice on the east front.
