Description

This barn, located 25 metres northwest of Rands Farmhouse, dates from the late 16th century. It is timber-framed, weatherboarded, and features a thatched hipped roof. The structure consists of four bays and a midstrey. Originally, it had an aisle only on the south side, but this has now been infilled below the arcade plate. The barn has jowled posts and arched braces supporting cambered tiebeams. Additionally, there is curved tension bracing in the walls, which is trenched inside the studs. Interior photographs were taken in 1981 and are held in the National Monuments Record.
