Description
Sallets Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 14th century, which incorporates remains of a small late 13th-century aisled hall. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring a thatched half hipped roof that is raised at the north end. The building has one storey and attics, with a two-window range of 20th-century casements. Inside, the 13th-century arcade posts have moulded capitals, and the base of the arcade bracing is still visible. A late 16th-century first floor has been inserted into the open hall from the 14th century, while the original 14th-century ends remain floored. The structure includes jowled posts and a cambered tie beam.
