Description
Kenningtons is a late 13th-century house that is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tile roof that is hipped at the east end. The building has two storeys and features a three-window range of 19th-century double hung vertical sliding sashes. Originally designed with aisles, the main frame still showcases a high-quality roof that includes crown posts with moulded bases and capitals, as well as a central hall crown post with a short moulded shaft and a steeply cambered tie beam. The roof is heavily sooted. The structure includes jowled storey posts that are chased for passing braces, along with moulded ashlar plates in the original hall.
