54 and 56 High Street is a 16th-century house, originally timber-framed and now plastered, with a modern tiled roof. The building features a gabled and jettied crosswing at its eastern end, with the jetty extended across the full width of the front. The first floor has a two-window range of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor contains a three-light sash window and a small shop window.
