Description

Mawkinherds Farmhouse is a house dating to the 15th century with a crosswing, a rebuilt main block from the 16th century, and a remnant of an early 16th-century structure to the right. The roof is covered in plain red tiles, with a hipped section over the crosswing featuring a gablet and a hip to the right side. The house is timber-framed and plastered, with three-range, twelve-pane sash windows to the main block and small-pane, vertical sliding sashes to the crosswing, both dating to the 19th century. A 20th-century tiled porch is present. An original square red brick chimney stack is positioned off-centre, featuring back-to-back fireplaces. External red brick stacks are located to the right and left. The remnant early 16th-century section incorporates moulded beams and stops.
