GV II

House, c.1600 with late C18 extensions and remodelling. Timber framed and plastered and of 2 storeys with a slightly dislocated 'T' shaped plan form. The N/S long block, which has this slight central break in the ridge line has hips at N and S ends. A gabled block projects towards the E with a gable end stack. There is a ridge line stack towards the N end of the long block. All roofs are of clay peg tiles. Windows are generally C20 small pane casements but with a double hung sash with small panes at N end of E elevation. In the angle of the E elevation and projecting wing, is a late C18 doorcase, with flat hood on scroll brackets and concave 'tent' roof. Interior reveals a timber framed, 2 storey building with crosswing at S end, hall bay, stack bay and service bay at N end. Formerly 'baffle entry' plan type and with side purlin roof with windbracing. Largely rebuilt, incorporating late C18 King post trusses. The S end block is entirely late C18.
