Description

The forge located in front of Number 30 is a structure from the 18th or 19th century. It is mainly built of brick and features a gabled pantile roof with an off-centre ridgeline louvre that also has a gabled roof. The rear half of the roof is covered in corrugated asbestos. The walls are predominantly clad in black weatherboarding on the upper half, with large doors facing the road and 19th-century doors along with a fixed light window on the east facade. The brickwork is mostly red, but the east elevation includes gault bricks and flint panels, along with isolated blocks of reused stone. This forge is included primarily for its group value.
