Description

This is a pair of early 19th-century houses, originally part of a terrace of four, located on Castlegate Street in Harwich. The houses are timber-framed with plastered walls and have a Welsh slate gambrel roof. They are two storeys and attics, with one window each, sharing a central ridgeline stack. Each house has a lean-to dormer with two casement windows, each casement containing six panes of glass. The windows are double-hung sashes with two vertical glazing bars on both floors, and the front doors are housed within original moulded surrounds, though the doors themselves are 20th-century replacements.
