Description
This is a pair of houses located on Palmer Street in South Petherton, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The houses are constructed from Ham stone ashlar and feature a Welsh slate roof with stepped coped gables and brick chimney stacks. They are two storeys tall with attics and consist of six bays. The windows are sash style with 16 panes in plain openings. In the second bay from the left on the ground floor, there is a 20th-century part-glazed door set in a deep recess, while the fifth bay has a 19th-century part-glazed door in a plain recess, topped with a 20th-century stone hood supported by corbel brackets. The attics have beaded mullioned two-light rectangular leaded windows in the east and west gables, and there are signs of a blocked opening in the east gable. The rear features an outshut and other extensions. The interiors have not been seen.
