Description
This is an 18th-century barn located about 60 meters west of Wrabness Hall Farmhouse on Wrabness Church Road. The barn features a weatherboarded timber frame set on a rendered brick plinth, topped with a corrugated asbestos sheet roof that has gabled ends.
The structure consists of five bays, with a central midstrey on the north side. The south front has double doors at the center, while the north elevation features a gabled midstrey with full-height double doors.
Inside, the principal trusses are supported by jowled posts and arch braces, and the roof includes a collared design with pairs of spur tennoned joggled purlins in each bay. The roof also has intermediate 'A' frame trusses with tapering principals that are birds mouthed over the wall plate. Diagonal straight bracing is present in both the wall frames and roof planes, and all timbers, except for oak, are chamfered.
