Description

WRABNESS CHURCH ROAD ROAD Barn about 60 m TM 13 SE West of Wrabness Hall Farmhouse 1/119 II GV

Barn. C18. Weatherboarded timber frame on rendered brick plinth. Corrugated asbestos sheet roof with gabled ends.

5 bays with central midstrey on Northside.

South front has double doors at centre. North elevation has gabled mistrey at centre with full-height double doors.

Interior: Principal trusses have jowled posts and arch braces and a collared roof with pairs of spur tennoned joggled purlins in each bay. Roof has intermediate 'A' frame trusses with tapering principals birds mouthed over the wall plate. Diagonal straight bracing in wall frames and roof planes. All timbers (not oak) are chamfered.
