Description
This barn, located approximately 30 metres south west of Cockett Wick Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century and has undergone later repairs. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, featuring a roof clad in corrugated asbestos. The barn has two midstreys, one with a gabled roof and the other with a hipped roof, and consists of eight bays. The side purlin roof is pegged at the ridge. The structure includes jowled storey posts, with some arched braces supporting the tie beams, and features some 18th and 19th century hanging knee replacements. The walls are supported by through bracing.
