Description
Grove Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th century. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring a hipped red plain tiled roof with gablets and an off-centre right red brick chimney stack. The building has two storeys and later single storey extensions on both the right and left sides. The façade includes a three-window range of 20th century small paned casements and a vertically boarded door to the left. Inside, the four-bay frame appears to be intact, showcasing chamfered bridging and ceiling joists, jowled storey posts, straight braces to tie beams, and a halved and bridled top plate scarf. There is a back-to-back inglenook fireplace, along with nailed board doors and vertically boarded doors. The roof was not accessible during the last survey.
