Description
Holly Lodge Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the 17th century or earlier, with alterations and additions made in the 18th century and later. It features a timber frame that is faced with red brick and has a red plain tiled roof topped with a red brick chimney stack. The house has a rear extension and stands two storeys high with attics. The front has a window arrangement of one window on the left with two-light casements and three windows on the right that are vertically sliding sashes with glazed margins. There is a central 20th-century nipped porch with a boarded door.
The original frame is visible on the right side, while the left bay and rear wings are from the 18th century. Inside, there are large jowled storey posts, substantial bridging, and ceiling joists, along with several moulded fire surrounds. The landing features 18th-century panelling, and the attics have a boarded roof, an 18th-century cupboard, and original vertically boarded doors. Some of the ground floor doors are six-panelled. Additionally, there is an 18th or 19th-century rear dairy that includes a brick floor, a slate shelf, and hanging hooks.
