Description
Chequers Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th to 18th century, with a 19th-century red brick facing. It has a red plain tiled roof and a central red brick chimney stack. The building is one storey with attics and features two gabled dormers that contain two-light casement windows. There are two three-light and one single-light transomed windows, each with labels above. The central entrance has panelled double doors with a moulded surround and a flat canopy. To the left, there is a single-storey range that extends forward, featuring a chimney stack at the ridge and a small paned vertically sliding sash window on the road-facing gable. Inside, the farmhouse includes ceiling beams, chamfered bridging joists, wall studs, a back-to-back inglenook fireplace, and cambered tie beams.
