Description
Dickley Hall is a house that likely dates back to the 15th or 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is timber framed and faced with red brick, topped with red tiled roofs. The building features a large red brick chimney stack in a concertina shape, which serves the original hall, and an external stack on the right crosswing. The structure is a hall house with crosswings on both the right and left sides, and it has a central band. The house is two storeys high and has a window arrangement of three sections, each with small paned vertically sliding sashes, and a central casement on the ground floor. There is an off-centre six-panel door with a fluted surround, a fluted frieze, and a flat canopy above it. A Crown Insurance plaque is located on the first floor of the hall. Inside, one room features restored 18th or 19th-century panelling and a cupboard, while heavy timber is exposed on one wall of the current hallway. Most of the interior features are now covered, and the north wing is said to have been rebuilt in the 19th century. Additionally, there is a pump attached to the rear wall.
