Description
No. 1A is a house and shop that forms part of a terrace, built in the 18th century for Richard Rigby. The building is likely made of plastered brick and features a red plain tiled roof with a chimney stack on the right. It has two storeys and attics, with a flat-headed dormer that includes a 19th-century two-light window. The façade has a plinth, a central band, and pilasters on the left and right that are shared with the adjoining houses. On the first floor, there are two small paned vertically sliding sash windows. The ground floor has a central 19th-century shop window with glazing bars and a fascia. To the right, there is a boarded door with a fanlight above it, and next to it, a five-panelled door also with a fanlight above, featuring capitals and bases to the pilasters and two columns that support a flat canopy. The door is marked with "No. 1A."
